I believe most leaders have the potential to become exceptional leaders. Turning this potential into practice is the critical challenge. There are many conceptual models of leadership. But exceptional leadership is more than theory, it’s about real-life application. It's messy, unpredictable, and sometimes things don’t work as the theory predicted. My years of experience has shown me that to advance beyond the theories leaders must develop:

Self-awareness – a deep and honest assessment of one’s often, unrecognized and under-utilized, strengths.

Relational awareness – a keen appreciation of their impact on others, both intentional and unintentional

Contextual awareness – a realistic understanding of their role and influence on the broader system in which their organization operates.
With these leaders can turn the theories into effective real-life practices. Whether its facilitating engaging and challenging development programs, advising, mentoring or coaching leaders, my ultimate objective is to use my real-world leadership experience and keen business acumen to advance their success. I have worked with exceptional leaders from a variety of organizations including PepsiCo, Bell Enterprises, Manulife, Microsoft, USAID and the Prime Minsters Office of Singapore.
